Discover Our Story

Since 1946, Tony DeMaria’s Bar-B-Que has been a family tradition in Waco, Texas. Founded by Tony DeMaria Jr. as a grocery store and meat market, the business began serving barbecue to crews building Interstate 35 in the 1950s. Tony and his wife, Lillie, raised four children who all helped with the family business.In 1995, Geoff DeMaria moved the business to its current location at 1000 Elm Street. In 2021, Geoff retired and passed the torch to Blake, the fourth generation carrying on the family’s barbecue legacy. Today, Tony DeMaria’s Bar-B-Que continues serving the same beloved barbecue recipe that started it all, keeping 80 years of tradition alive.

Become part of a restaurant with deep roots in Waco. Tony DeMaria's began as a grocery store and meat market in 1946, with members of the DeMaria family contributing to the business over the decades. Following Geoff's retirement in 2021, Blake took over the restaurant and continued its barbecue tradition.
